Im not American and had no idea Gary Indiana was a real place. But I liked this song and looked it up again one day. Only to find a podcast titled “the rise and fall of Gary Indiana “. I was honestly so shocked and sad at what the town became, especially after listening to this song written during the towns hey day. The composer never would’ve guessed what Gary would become only decades later 😢
